Brainiac 5 Redesign

Let me just preface this by saying that Jesse’s portrayal of Brainy is absolutely phenomenal, like, it’s better than I could have imagined; I just wasn’t crazy about his make-up or costume.

One big point of contention was Brainy’s turquoise complexion, so I messed around with a color blender and picked a color closer to how it was in the animated series. I liked the idea of shoulder length hair, but I wanted it to look more like Rath’s actual hair. 

Sometimes in the comics he’s got a lab coat/puffy jacket, and since this version of Brainy doesn’t seem to punchy, I didn’t think it was too impractical; I kept the metal epaulettes he’s got on Supergirl just ‘cause I think they look cool, and based the coat’s colors on the suit he wears on the show. I replaced the brainiac belt with a Legionnaire’s one, and placed the symbol on his chest. While is his main outfit sports a purple/maroon color closer to other incarnations, the collar and stripe/line down the middle is based on his Supergirl suit.
